We found the gap no one else wanted to look for.
Construction doesn’t need more corporate grey.
Too many agencies in this space recycle the same tired playbook generic websites, stiff branding, bland ads. Coming from the worlds of fashion and sport, I saw how powerful branding could be when it was bold, creative, and unapologetic.
When I stepped into construction, I realised something: the work being done is groundbreaking, but the way it’s marketed is stuck in the mud.
That’s where Long Neck comes in we bring fresh eyes, sharper strategy, and a creative edge this industry has been missing.
Two Branches. One Philosophy
Being lucky enough to have a best friend who knows construction inside out, Long Neck naturally grew into two branches.
Derbyshire, United Kingdom
From the heart of the Peak District, we work with UK construction companies to sharpen their strategy, create standout campaigns, and build marketing engines that actually convert.
Johannesburg, South Africa
Led by Dani Herbert, Long Neck SA works with clients across construction, interiors, and marketing delivering the same no-nonsense, results-driven philosophy with a South African edge.
I know I just said it is not about us ...But if you're nosy...
Hi, I’m Tali
I’m in my late twenties, live in Derbyshire and am absolutely OBSESSED with my dog.
But why Long Neck and why the construction industry?
I’ll be honest I used to think construction was boring.
When I worked as a project manager, they asked me about marketing because of my degree. I pitched ideas I thought were pretty normal campaigns inspired by fashion and sport, things with energy and creativity. The reaction? “Too out there.”
Corporate grey doesn’t cut it
That’s when it clicked: what I thought was boring had already become the standard. Every ad, every brand, every message in construction looked and sounded the same. Corporate grey. Safe. Forgettable.
But here’s the truth: the people who hire construction companies aren’t boring. They’re the same people who get excited about sport, fashion, beauty, lifestyle. Every day they’re being sold to with bold, unapologetic marketing. And yet, when it comes to construction, they’re fed a watered-down version.
There was no single ‘aha’ moment. Just a quiet decision. After years of building businesses with others, I wanted something of my own. Something that blended both sides of my career the hands-on experience of managing construction projects, and the creative firepower from industries that refuse to play it safe.
Building bolder foundations
I believe construction deserves the same respect as every other industry. Fashion has campaigns. Sport has stars. Beauty has faces of the brand.
Construction shouldn’t have to settle for generic ads and dull messaging.
Building a wall might never be as “sexy” as a runway show. But marketing it can be a hell of a lot smarter, sharper, and more exciting than what this industry has been offered so far.
That’s why I started Long Neck.
Welcome to the pond of crazy ducks.
